The basic course involves practical hands on Inspection and testing of Electrical Installations and Appliances
We begin by looking at how electrical legislation sets out the requirements for the testing. You will receive supporting documentation which we will explain in detail as applies to AS/NZS 3000:2007 and AS/NZS 3017:2007
We will first check the calibration of your testing instruments using the equipment provided by Training-Corp.
Candidates go through the full list of tests and inspection of items that must be checked. They will undertake the testing on the demonstration boards that have been specifically designed for the course and record their results. These boards are also used for the live tests.
You will carry out test procedures for
- Continuity tests
- Insulation tests
- Earthing Resistance test
- Polarity test
- Fault Loop Impedance test
- RCD test
- Fault Finding
- Appliance testing for Certification
At the conclusion of this course, participants will be able to carry out all electrical tests using their own equipment, and be competent to inspect for Compliance any fixed installation in a residential or commerical property in accordance with the relevant Electricity Regulations, Code's of Practice and Standards.
